DESCRIPTION OF THE FREQUENCY CONVERTER
The ABP Series K-FACTOR Solid State/Static Frequency Converter is one of the most popular AC power supplies designed to change AC power from 50Hz to 60Hz or 60Hz to 50Hz, or convert traditional 50/60 Herts to any frequency between 40Hz and 500Hz, like 400Hz or convert 50/60Hz to 16.67Hz / 25Hz / 100Hz (on request), with adjustable output voltage from 0V to 520Vac
APPLICATIONS
Frequency converters can be used for various applications, from test benches and lines to carry out tests on electrical and electronic equipment (motors, resistors, solenoid valves, etc.), to research and development laboratories to generate different voltages and frequencies with maximum freedom by simulating foreign electricity networks different from the national one or anomalies and unforeseen situations, up to industrial production lines, where stability is required due to repetitive variations on the network, high voltage peaks and/or voltage drops (brownout) more absolute. For the equipment, equipped with a special transformer, total immunity of the load from any disturbances coming from and passing through the main distribution network is ensured.
ELECTRONIC VOLTAGE VARIATOR
Comparable to a traditional motorized voltage stabilizer – booster, through an electronic circuit it reproduces the voltage supplied, and in a very rapid intervention time (< 1 mS), even in the event of a change in the load or voltage of the input network, it ensures the power supply to the connected users. It is possible to prepare the regulation and/or setting of the output voltage both from the front panel and from the RS232 serial input with Modbus protocol.
FREQUENCY CONVERTER
This frequency converter allows the supply of a voltage with a different frequency than that of the power supply line, with a perfectly sinusoidal wave shape. The frequency can always be adjusted, for any voltage value set, from 40Hz up to 500Hz.
ELECTRONIC STABILIZER
Equipped with a standard isolation transformer, it constantly ensures the values of the supplied and set voltage, even if higher than the input voltage.

Output frequency range: 40 to 500Hz Output voltage range: 0:150Vac and 0:300Vac
Output waveform: perfectly sinusoidal
Output VOLTAGE accuracy: ± 1%.
Harmonic distortion with linear load: < 3%
Output frequency accuracy: ± 0.01%
The product automatically changes the output range, delivering from 0 to 150Vac a current double the maximum current of the voltage range up to 300Vac, referred to 230V. This means that full power will always be available even with 115Vac output.
The distortion of the output waveform with the loads applied as indicated by CEI EN 50091 fully complies with the Regulations.
Electronic protections:
For overloads between 101% and 200% of the nominal current the converter powers the load for 5″, beyond which it disables the output
In the event of a short circuit, the output is immediately disabled.
It is possible to set a maximum voltage or maximum current protection that can be delivered to avoid unwanted damage to the equipment under test
Automation functions:
It is possible to store and then recall up to 32 settings of voltage – frequency – power time combinations to facilitate the testing settings by an operator.
It is possible to memorize and then activate complex test cycles by inserting up to 128 memory sets into the test cycle which represent a combination of voltage – frequency – ramp time – power supply duration, in this way it is possible to repetitively simulate a sequence of different power conditions by simulating numerous regular or abnormal conditions, including blackouts or voltage spikes.
All functions can be controlled remotely via RS232 (rs485 on request); via the 5V trigger it is possible to start data collection when the load is powered.

THE NEW REMOTE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE OF THE ABP SYSTEM FROM WINDOWS PC IS AVAILABLE, with complete management of output voltages and frequencies, reading and recording of test data on XLS files, management of an infinite number of test cycles, each with max 128 combinations of voltage, frequency and duration of the test step, for complete automation of tests even in the presence of numerous different types of operation (optional).
